Ah, for some reason, I thought Swain Co. was south of the park. If this was in the park, it should be ocoee or imitator. I've never seen imitator quite that small, but I'm willing to bet ocoee on this lil guy. If you email me where, more specifically, this stream was, I can probably say with more certainty. I think in my Amphibs of GSMNP, the ranges of carolinensis, ocoee and imitator overlap. I beleive you are right about it being in that complex.
This is part of the ochrophaeus complex (ochrophaeus, ocoee, imitator, carolinensis, orestes). I believe Swain Co. puts you in ocoee range.
