It was found only four feet from the open water in a calm inlet. We speculate it had already sustained some illness or injury which drove it up shore. The area is rich with both raccoons and osprey so I sickly turtle in the shallows would probably get fished out rather quickly.
Interesting - do you think it became trapped in the mangroves?
