Notes

Flipped a large dead tree stump and found one partially decayed newborn helleri. Under the same stump were 11 sheds of helleri, so perhaps this was the site they were all born and stayed for a period of time before initial sheds. It appears the decayed helleri died during its first shed... if you look at it's tail, it was in the process of shedding. I collected the sheds and decayed helleri to take better photos at home. Added info per John Lauerman: "I would add that this evidence shows that the mother of this species may indeed stick around until first shed. It was gal named Shannon that was writing the paper which included sidewinders and cottonmouths or copperheads." More info to follow.
