Never saw one of these this dark...the dark color was almost black, and the white was very white. Usually, the color of the Crotalus oreganus helleri; Southern Pacific Rattlesnake in Ventura County is much lighter. We could not approach as it was feeding on a small rodent and was trying to get into the underbrush.
Size was 3ft long.
