No East side of Valley.. I am legally color blind and dont remember if it looked pink, it is just a skink after all, jk.

Well, fuzzy image quality shouldn't affect color! ;) The tail appears pink--was it not? Hmm, Madera Co. but in the valley? Were you closer to the west side of the valley, where you were hunting other squamates...?

This entry only shows locality info to state level. If you found a pink-tailed gilberti within the region where P. gilberti gilberti (which has a blue tail) occurs, that's pretty interesting. What was the general location?

The subspecies was listed by location, cancellosus or rubricaudatus dont occur here? Thoughts

Under current taxonomy, pink tail = P. gilberti cancellosus or P. gilberti rubricaudatus.
