Chris,
Those specific pictorial records weren't calling at the time, but they are a very common yard frog around the Pleasanton area. In this drought they crank up virtually any time (night or day) when they smell water; turning on a sprinkler system virtually guarantees a half-hour or so of calling.
I based the ID entirely on various recordings of the call, which sounds exactly like those you have recorded in Medina, Atascosa, and Bee counties. I cannot recall ever hearing Hyla versicolor in this area, but it is possible that I have overlooked them - I will pay more attention in the future.
Tom,
Were these calling? I'm trying to determine if versicolor occurs in the area.
