A good friend of mine took these pics at a job site. This was the 2nd one he had seen-(different specimen than this one) in Sept. Both on cold windy clear days. Both were adult snakes as well. They were both in same spot on a patio/deck Lake Front home. A few ays later in the first week of Oct. he found another fresh baby out basking on the patio, although that day the air temp was in the low 60's.

I've spent nearly my whole life observing these and looking for them in the field in this area. Each year I get sent pics from non herpers under conditions that to me were not favorable and these snakes are much more opportunistic than I ever thought through out many months of the year.
