Notes
I walked right next to this snake, while on the phone. The snake never made a noise with it's rattle nor did it coil or assume a threatening position. It was one calm, cool rattlesnake.

This is crotalus ruber (Red Diamond Rattlesnake), not crotalus scutulatus scutulaus). This is apparent both from the voucher shots and the habitat.
Subspecies is scutulatus scutulatus.
