When first spotted, the snakes remained motionless. After raising the camera, they started to rattle and crawl into the rocks. I could then hear rattles echoing from holes in the rocks all around me, and what sounded like far more buzzing than from just the 3 seen, though it was admittedly hard to tell.
Neglected to mark waypoint on GPS, but I geo-referenced via Google Earth. If it is not precise, it is certainly within 1/4 mile.
