Black rats are incredibly hard to find up here and are state listed as Endangered. If I ever see one, I'll consider myself incredibly lucky.
I've only initially picked up the very young Nerodia, but have held larger ones once my husband got them to calm down. I'm more interested in in situ shots though, whenever possible.
great stuff with the northerns, only non-ven snake i'm a little leary of picking up. lol. Black rats tough to come by up their?
