Notes
This was a pretty large male Chuckwalla who would dive when I got near, only to pop right back out after I would turn my back. This area is heavily used as a target range for firearms. It is interesting to note that the face of the hill we found this male and 2 other chucks was the Northern side of the mountain chain. It was very green, grass and wildflowers growing strongly, and the rocks seemed to hold a great deal more moisture than other places nearby. Guess nobody told these Chucks that their species usually favors the Southwestern side of mountains.
