Notes

Carapace length approximately 7.9 inches. This tortoise apparently died after becoming trapped in a ranch fence such that its front legs couldn't touch the ground which would have possibly allowed it to back out. It was covered in ants. Salvaged under permit from TPWD.

Yes, stuck in a ranch fence. Salvaged under permit and deposited with TNHC at UT Austin.
