I'd say there is a much better chance it is elegans.....it depends whether you feel photos on NA Herp have to be identifiable, which this is not from that photo. A wildlife agency that used our data would throw this out, I'm sure. If we are allowed to post stuff that might be something, I could post a lot of stuff. No big deal though, I understand your point abou otherst wanting to check it out. Though you could check it out again on your own if you really felt strongly it was red belly. To each his own.

This is what's in my notes. If a professional is interested in them, I want him/her to at least see this as a possibility and not pass it by. He/she can make the decision whether or not they want to investigate further.

"Put in as a rubiventris as it was suggested that it was either that or a T.s.elegans. It may very well not be a rubiventris, but the pond may be worth checking out if you are interested in them.

*Time - 1 hour preparation, 2 hour drive home (other drivetime added in different records), 2 hours in the field."
