City park. Very little habitat remaining. Same locale as other Kane County specimens I have posted. This area had been developed roughly fifteen years ago and the newts are hanging on. Supposedly, these woodlands had nice populations pre-development. Now it takes work just to turn up a single newt. I have yet to see more than one on a single visit. In another fifteen years I would bet there will be no newts here, which is very unfortunate as this species is very rare this far west of Chicago.
