It was a hybrid of the two, most of all that I have encountered in the area have been hybrids between compressicauda and pictiventris.
I'd probably struggle to pick a mangrove saltmarsh snake out of a lineup, but that looks a lot like a Florida banded water snake (N. fascita pictiventris) to me, one of which I just saw yesterday. However, I think I've read that these species can hybridize with one another, so who knows.
