Notes

This frog started calling while I was talking with human companions near a cavernous arrangement of boulders. By impersonating its duck-like calls, I was able to get it to cross the creek and hop up a massive, vertical boulder that we were standing on top of. By being still and continuing the calls, I was eventually able to get it to jump up onto my arm and peer at my mouth, while continuing to exchange calls. Chorus frogs were also seen at this location on July 20, 2004. P. hypochondriaca is sympatric at this location with P. cadaverina, and both species were seen on both dates.
