Notes

This is crazy. Hognose Snakes in Shelby County are ridiculously rare. But here we are! This snake was found on the sandy and grassy areas surrounding the beach of the island on McKellar Lake. It was in the middle of the day and super hot, but yet this beautiful rarity was underneath a log I flipped. Unbelievable. I hadn't seen habitat like what I found it in anywhere in Memphis before. I think that and a few areas near by are the only large sandy soiled habitats we have left in Memphis. I can't wait to see what else is out there aggghhh!!
