I think this is the correct Ssp. I use A.t.stegnegeri for whiptails from the coastal slopes of the San Bernardino Mtns., this was from the northern slopes on the desert side. May be intergrades? I see whiptails on both slopes from the base to the top and then on peaks in this mtn range as well.
