Was surprised to flip these two in such a dry, sandy environment. Was at the crest of the hill and area appeared exposed and dry, but there was some moisture under the logs where they were flipped. I believe that these are B. attenuatus, but I questioned whether they could possibly be Gabilan Mountains Slender Salamanders. At a latitude of 37 degrees 4 minutes in Santa Cruz County, is that too far north for Batrachoseps gavilanensis?
