Notes
Map turtle sunning with red-eared sliders. Likely a released pet. Not positive on species ID - please advise if you believe it to be incorrect.
Comments
Definitely not - the lake appears to have become a dumping ground for released pets and there appear to be new species there every time I go. Even the native pond turtle I observed in the lake was probably a release.
Unfortunately, I have yet to hear about any invasive turtle eradication efforts in SoCal, even in the places with native turtle populations.
Looks like a false map to me. Anyone trying to eradicate the invasive turtle populations?
