Notes

Unfortunately there are no voucher shots because this was an unplanned herping trip (in part because we were not really permitted to stop and hike in the burn area).

But the snakes we found were definitely two-striped garters, varying in size from 10 inches to 36 inches. Only two were adults, the rest juveniles. The person with me, Edwin Tucker, told me he had seen two-striped garter snakes at the same spot before prior to the big fire of 2009. He was very glad to see that this population of snakes seemed to be doing fine even after the fire.

In general, the streambed looked quite healthy and alive despite the fire. We also found one Western pond turtle and one juvenile pseudacris hypochondriaca in a timeframe of about an hour. Those records have been entered separately.

Thanks for pointing that out, Brian. I've made the changes.

You have the state as Colorado and no county....
