After reviewing several more photos. I agree with your original ID of A. mutica. Also note that it is a male.

Not that it matters LOL, but I thought I Id it pretty well. Kinda hard for me to change it based upon what is more likely to be invasive. The shell was smooth not rough. I can send you some pics via email if your really good with turtle Id. At the place it was found at, it could be anything.

This is a spiny softshell (not smooth). Spinys are more likely to be invasive too.
