Discovered under prickly pear cactus in landscape surrounding a Visitor Center. Observed him moving around through the landscaping for 1/2 an hour. Is this a bullsnake or a desert version of the gopher snakes I normally find around San Diego?

Based upon location, its a Great Basin.. There may be a touch of San Diego influence, but not much, if any..
