Notes
Immature Coast Garter Snake without any red markings found recently dead in a riparian strip between grazed pastures and expansive coastal dunes. It was clearly emaciated which may be why it was above ground this time of year. Its body was still limp and the wounds to its head were soft and moist. Thanks to Taylor Henry, Natalie McNear, and FunkyRes for their help with the identification of this snake.
