this helli was collected by my partner for use in hunting dog rattlesnake avoidance training. It spent some time at a local University undergoing venom and genetic testing, and came back as a 'desert clade' helleri, like is occasionally found at Joshua Tree.
This snake represents a nearly 30 mi Northern Range extension along the transverse ranges (Gabes/Berdo's)
