Hi Steve, I understand (I argued your point for years, but agencies, scientists, and other members of HERP didn't agree). I had to go back to well over 400 records and add GPS to them. unfortunately, the requester s thus far have "excluded" wanting any of our non GPS Records, and all of them have been left out. The accuracy field is important too. I imagine we will archive them, so people can add GPS, or have them if we ever get a request for them.
That's unfortunate. Many of my older records do not have GPS coordinates. It would be a shame to lose all those records just because they don't have detailed locality info. I'll see if I can find the time to go back and enter vague GPS coordinates to my past records. I can't imagine that a vouchered record with at least some general location info (i.e. county) would be less valuable than a non-vouchered record.
Hi Steve, Can you add the GPS to the record. Soon we will be removing or archiving records without GPS.? All records without GPS have been worthless to agencies and scientists so far.
