Very thin snake measured 12" in length.

No problem. I've seen one about 16". I'm really not sure how much longer they get than that.
Thanks Taylor, I updated the entry. How large does this subspecies get? I remember finding a larger one in Carlsbad in 1990. It was perhaps 16" long.
This is actually Diadophis punctatus similis. That's a pretty good size one.
