HA, yeah tell me about it.. Hard to remember anything these days.. I thought I was losing it.. LOL I am boa guy and had never seen a head on on adult like those above. :)
OK, I looked through some more photos of these two snakes and it turns out the male is a juvenile. I took that picture shortly after the snakes were collected, but I did not end up taking care of them, (during which time they bred) until three years later. Getting old sucks! Memory is the first thing that goes.
Actually the one on the right is an adult female. The one on the left is a male, perhaps a subadult, but the snakes reproduced while I was taking care of them, less than a year after they were collected.
Yeah it's in Yuma county, but the one on the left looks nothing like any of the Kofa's I have seen, interesting (from a Natural history point of view). Btw those are both babies or youngsters.
Very cool.Very variable in color too. That second pic looks like a certain locality from a nearby range. Hope to find one this season.
Brian,
They are from the Kofa mountains. I thought that range was in Yuma county, but correct me if I am wrong. These were collected by a friend, I've never actually been there.
In Yuma county?
