Notes
1st of 15 animals observed that day. Although I don't have much exact data this is what I do know:
-the sex ratio was in favor of females
-1 individual was found on the move, the rest under rocks
-sizes ranged from approx. 12-18 inches
-most were found on the west side of the river within 30ft of shore
-a few (at least 2,3) animals had scarring
-after finding nothing in the first 100m? of stream, we found all 15 along a very small stretch
-most were found away from the main current, although a few were in it
-all were found in a few hours
