Found this gophersnake and a Northern Pacific Rattlesnake under rocks surrounded by grasslands after about 45 minutes of searching during cold and misty conditions. This area is in the intergrade zone between Pacific, Great Basin, and possibly the San Diego subspecies of the Gophersnake.
