If you find a DOR protected species in the future. I would suggest calling WI DNR. I suspect they would want you to collect it to provide them with a vouchered physical specimen. Happy Herping!
Nevermind. I see they are also on the "Protected Species List".
I thought they were only "special concern" in WI. Does that afford them protection?
No, I don't have permits to collect WI protected species, alive or dead.
