Notes
This specimen was discovered during a distribution and genetics study of Phrynosoma hernandesi and P. douglasi. The area was visited following reports of short-horned lizards assumed to be P. douglasi. However, all specimens were found to morphologically resemble P. hernandesi and DNA sequencing proved them to belong to the species Phrynosoma hernandesi. The submitted photo is of an adult female. Three additional specimens were also found.
