Comments
I think it's taxispilota because of ventral pattern (Peterson p. 79), and range map in Gibbons (p. 168). Range maps in Mount (p. 222) and Peterson (p. 289) indicate that taxispilota is not here, but these maps are 1996 and 1998, respectively. Gibbons (2005) shows that taxispilota is here, so perhaps the range has changed?

This is more likely a Diamondback water snake. Actually my first thought was Brown (N. taxispilota) but i don't think we have those in Mobile.
