If you want further verification on Pseudacris sierra in Santa Clara County, you can check this very excellent online field guide: http://www.californiaherps.com/frogs/pages/p.sierra.html

Mr. Flaxington is definitely very knowledgeable. You'll notice the ID he posted on that forum thread was "Pseudacris regilla complex". The Pseudacris regilla "complex" is the group of closely related species Pseudacris regilla, Pseudacris sierra, and Pseudacris hypochondriaca. They are difficult to tell apart from each other unless you know where they are from, and you didn't mention your location information in the thread, so Mr. Flaxington was only able to tell you the complex they belong to.

Hi Jonathan,

I entered P. regilla based on feedback I got from a posting on Field Herp Forum from someone who is supposedly knowledgeable and goes by the nickname of "Fieldnotes". Here is the link: http://www.fieldherpforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7676
I am willing to change the name but only if you can vouch for the necessity of the name change.
